Meditation is a recommended daily practice at the Rice Diet Program. It is used to encourage mindfulness in thought and action and to assist in stress reduction.
While at the Rice House, patients are exposed to a number of different styles of meditation. The guided meditations found on this CD by Thich Nhat Hanh and Sister Jina are frequently played in our twice weekly meditation classes. Thich Nhat Hanh is a Zen master in the Vietnamese tradtion, scholar, poet, and peace activist.
This recording from Plum Village includes three guided meditations led by Sister Jina: conscious breathing for calming the mind and cultivating joy; body appreciation and attunement practice; and transforming your anger into seeds of kindness. It also includes a 33-minute bell-sounding meditation introduced by Thich Nhat Hanh.
